Franklin property sells for $25M+

Eagle’s Rest Farm once eyed for Tiger Woods-designed golf course

A sprawling Franklin property once eyed for a Tiger Woods-affiliated golf course has sold to an unidentified buyer for more than $25 million — representing the second-largest such real estate transaction in Williamson County history, according to a release.

Eagle’s Rest Farm features a custom-built, 21,000-square-foot home sitting on 686 acres. The property offers a 15-acre lake with boat house, picnic pavilion, horse barn, equipment and storage building, and a swimming pool and pool house.

The property had been listed at $30 million. It sits at 1350 King Lane, south of Coleman Road, which connects Franklin Pike and Carters Creek Pike.

The seller was Gary Baker. A businessman and lawyer, Baker once co-owned Bristol Motor Speedway and Fairgrounds Nashville’s speedway. Relatedly, he also co-owned a racing team that included veteran music industry executive Mike Curb.

Jeremy Hall, agent for Franklin-based real estate brokerage Mossy Oak Properties-Tennessee Land and Farm, represented the Bakers. Dan McEwen, owner and principal broker of Columbia-based McEwen Group, represented the buyer, which was not identified in a release.

In 2017, Arizona-based Discovery Land Company Eyed the property for a Woods-designed 18-hole golf course.

Wednesday’s release does not include the buyer or the record residential land sale in Williamson County history, and the Post was unable to determine either at publication time.
